November 2025: Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving, y'all! We have so much to be grateful for and topping the list is this Ravens Uganda community. Read on for a special video from one of our newest Ravens Youth!

Abel and Mildred had a wonderful visit to North Carolina! They loved getting to meet new people and reconnect with dear friends in person. There are so many wonderful people involved in this work and it's a genuine gift to be together in the same space, even if only for a short time.

Abel and Mildred reminded us that God chooses to include us, to use us in redeeming the world. God has given us the power to bless. Deirdre shared that, for each of the youth currently in the Ravens Program and those on the waitlist, the circumstances of their birth and the choices that other people made have placed them into a cycle of poverty and loss. Our circumstances and our choices can help get them out. We have the power to bless where others have not been able or willing to.

This is a beautiful, weighty gift and we are holding it in our hearts as we enter this season of gratitude and gathering.

A Message from Deirdre:

A BIG thank you to all who made Abel and Mildred's visit so lovely! The longer I'm involved in the work of Ravens, the more I love it—the mission, the kinship of Abel and Mildred, and especially the youth themselves. In this season of gratitude, I feel it so deeply: it is a gift to be a Raven. Thank YOU for being a Raven. You are changing the world for these young people—and they're going to change the world for others. Thanks be to God!

Happy Thanksgiving!
