Meet Vicky
At just 23 years old, Vicky is on a mission to revolutionize Uganda's healthcare system. She's pursuing a career in Medical Laboratory Techniques, driven by a deep-seated desire to prevent misdiagnosis but also save lives. Having witnessed the devastating consequences of medical errors, Vicky is determined to make a difference.
Raised in a family of nine, where she is the first born, the weight of family responsibilities became heavy for her parents who received meager income from their small scale farming. These financial struggles threatened Vicky’s education and had lost all hope due to lack of support. Her grandmother tried to save her situation but it worsened after her grandmother’s passing on.
Although life became tough, Vicky's determination only grew stronger. She found hope through Ravens, which offered her a chance to pursue her dreams.
Today, she is one step closer to realizing her vision: a future where patients receive accurate diagnoses and medical errors are minimized. With every lesson learned and laboratory procedure mastered, she's fulfilling her calling. Vicky's story is a testament to the power of hard work and the impact of Raven’s work and support.
